Matt Baldwin is an upright bassist, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist with 35 years of experience performing traditional and progressive bluegrass.
A traditional bluegrass bassist at heart, Matt embraces the role of the band's rhythmic foundation: a strong, steady pulse that gives every musician in the ensemble room to shine. His playing ranges from classic one-and-five bluegrass to walking bass informed by a background in jazz.
An accomplished lead and harmony vocalist, he sings lead, baritone, and bass parts. A lifelong student of music theory, history, composition, and arrangement, Matt brings curiosity and dedication to every musical project.
